A Rich History, A Safe Future

Hickman & Ritchard Financial Planning (HRFP) have more than 30 years collective experience in the financial services industry, in excess of $100 million in funds under management, and the backing of big name brand MLC – an organisation that’s been around for more than 120 years.

This second generation financial planning business was founded by Geoff and Shaun's fathers, Jim Hickman and Peter Trimnell-Ritchard, who were well-known and highly regarded members of the financial planning industry. Sadly, Jim and Peter are no longer with us but Shaun and Geoff continue their legacy of providing honest and straightforward advice to their valued clients.

MLC stands behind the advice we provide and provides the technical and investment research that we use for our clients (although we are not tied to using their investment and insurance products). MLC audit us annually to ensure we are meeting our obligations to our clients by providing sound, appropriate advice.

Benefit From Our Experience

We work as a team by drawing on each other’s expertise so you gain access to our shared knowledge.

We’ve ridden out the 90’s dot.com crash, the twin towers attack September 11 2001, and the global financial crisis in 2007 to 2009 - one of the worst financial downturns since the Great Depression of the 1930s. We’ve seen the worst lows and the best highs, and we’re flourishing. Why? Wisdom comes from experience - and our clients benefit from our experience.

‘In the business world, the rear view mirror is always clearer than the windshield.’ – Warren Buffet.

The principals of the business, Geoff and Shaun, have over 30 years combined experience in the financial services industry. During that time they have honed their expertise and developed a reputation for providing quality advice to their clients.

Geoff’s in-depth knowledge of the finance industry and background in accounting will help you clarify where you are now, where you want to go, and how to get there. Geoff will help you set immediate, medium, and long term goals and then implement a plan to help you reach those goals.
